This department head position will partner with City leadership team members to develop and progress toward strategic goals as well as guide the day-to-day operation of the Parks and Recreation Department. The scope of responsibility includes technical, administrative, and professional work related to the City’s parks and recreation, special events, community engagement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This position is responsible for recreation services, parks maintenance, the senior center, and the 21st Century Learning Grant (TEAM 21 Program). Leads and supervises Parks and Recreation Department staff; evaluates programs and analyzes capital needs. Works with the Parks and Recreation Commission, the City Manager’s Office, and the City Council to determine parks and recreation program priorities and needs and works with the area schools, to determine needs of the TEAM 21 Program.
