ABOUT PRIYA ALAGARSAMY

I am an agile, proactive, and results-oriented data science professional with six years of industry experience. I currently develop advanced analytics and AI models for deposit retention, acquisition, and pricing. My team\'s approach is rooted in a strategic and trusted-advisor partnership with the retail business to refine pricing and AI models that drive incremental value. Previously, I partnered with the digital transformation team to help customers plan for the future through a personal financial management tool.In my role, I help solve problems through descriptive analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling such as customer segmentation, propensity modelling, clustering, price sensitivity, and ROI measurement yielding annual benefits of $15-20Million. My software skills include strong proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit, matplotlib, seaborn, OOP, PyTorch), SQL, Hive, PySpark, C++, and GCP (BQ, VertexAI, Composer). What motivates me is the ability to bring value through data-driven actionable insights to address challenges across business lines in digital transformation, retail banking, and financial markets. I owe my problem-solving and biz-analytics acumen to my doctoral education in finance & business economics, undergrad in computer science engineering, and work experience across continents. Through my mentors, I\'ve learnt that the best way to create results is to become a trusted advisor to my clients which is what I\'m currently working towards.
