ABOUT DOUG KOTELLY
Doug Kotelly is Chief Investment Officer of Prime Group Holdings, a private equity company that is among the largest owners of self storage real estate in the world. He is responsible for several interdependent platforms within the firm, including business development, fundraising, portfolio construction and investment originations. At Prime Group, Mr. Kotelly has overseen the rapid growth of the company\'s asset base and led the successful fund-raise of several private equity real estate funds, all of which have exceeded their targeted total commitments. These funds have totaled over $4 billion and include Prime Storage Fund which, at $2.5 billion, is the largest self storage fund ever raised. During his tenure at Prime Group, he has dramatically improved the composition and caliber of the company\'s investment capital - from in-house capital circa 2014, to today\'s diversified global investor base, which includes sovereign wealth funds, public pension plans, university endowments, insurance companies, health care systems, banks, private equity companies, foundations and various other institutions. Mr. Kotelly has over 30 years of experience in virtually all U.S. property and capital markets, having worked for a diverse set of investors ranging from boutiques to major institutions such as UBS, Sun Life Financial and Bank of America. Prior to joining Prime Group, he originated direct and joint-venture real estate investments totaling well over $2 billion in capitalization. From 2004 to 2014, Mr. Kotelly ran the real estate platform for Boston-based Overland Capital, an international investment firm. At Overland, he originated and managed equity investments in U.S. real estate on behalf of European and Asian institutional clients. Mr. Kotelly earned an MBA, magna cum laude, from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He has a BS, summa cum laude, from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, where he double-majored in Finance and Human Resources Management. At BC, Mr. Kotelly ran Varsity Track & Field; he also earned membership in Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society of Jesuit universities. Mr. Kotelly has a Real Estate Development Certificate from The Urban Land Institute.
