R&D in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with an emphasis on materials for silicon-based anodes that withstand cyclic deformation and remain conductive. • Design, synthesis, and processing of new polymer composites. Functionalization by using different dopants. Advanced engineering of materials’ morphology. Copolymerization. Compatibilization of interfaces. Chemical grafting. Hands-on skills in various polymerization techniques. • Scaling lab syntheses up to an industrial level. • Developed and implemented into production several approaches to improve performance over numerous charge-discharge cycles in LIBs. • Advanced characterization of the newly made materials, including FTIR, EDX, nanomechanics (nanoindentation, nanoscratch, nanowear, nanofretting), SEM, TEM, PLM, CV, thermal analysis (DSC, DMA, TGA), and other techniques. • Filed two industrial patents (provisional) in this field.
