About Korianna Rosenthal

Hello, my name is Korianna Rosenthal, I’m from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and my first model rocket in sixth grade did not launch off the pad. Despite following the instructions to the letter, my rocket never left the ground, leaving twelve year-old Korianna standing in the middle of a field, feeling defeated. However, I wouldn’t let go of my childhood passion for space and those large flying machines in the sky. I continued to work hard, designing, building, and launching model rockets, and I eventually worked my way up the ladder to captain of my middle school’s rocketry club. This Korianna-led middle school rocketry team even placed 6th in the nation in 2017. I have always refused to give up on this dream, so I decided to found the rocketry club at my all-girl high school. Despite the success of continuously earning a spot in the national rocketry competition, my main goal was always to help other young women find a passion in STEM. Founding this club and being a role model and leader for these young women has had a lasting impact on my high school community and on myself as well. Now, I am continuing this dream as a fifth-year student in the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), pursuing a Bachelor\'s degree in aerospace engineering with a minor in mathematics. Through the University of Cincinnati, I am continuing my grade school dreams of rocketry through the UC Rocketry Club, and my high school dream of promoting women in STEM through the Society of Women Engineers. Apart from my love for aerospace, I like to spend my free time watching Philadelphia sports with my family (Go Birds!), spending time outdoors, and playing with my dog.
