ABOUT KOMALI YENNETI

Dr. Komali Yenneti is currently Head of Partnerships (Academic Quality) and Reader in \"Urban Sustainability\" at the University of Wolverhampton. She was previously a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader (Geography, Urban Environments and Climate Change) at the University of Wolverhampton.Dr. Yenneti has extensive research, policy and advocacy experience in climate change adaptation and mitigation and energy, and is helping create sustainable communities and cities around the world. Her current research involves more than 25 government and industry partners as full-partners to co-create solutions for improving living conditions of people and to develop knowledge exchange partnerships for achieving the sustainable development goals. Dr. Yenneti has published extensively on poverty and inequality, energy justice and urban sustainability in internationally reputed journals. She has presented at more than 50 international conferences and symposia. She is a frequent invited speaker, including those events organised by the Low Carbon Energy for Development Network and Al-Gore’s Climate Change Leadership Programme. She was described as one of the World’s Top 25 Young Scientists in Energy [Federal Ministry of Education and Research], 100 Great Minds [Falling Walls Foundation] and was felicitated by the Queen Elizabeth at the Buckingham Palace London. She received the inaugural International Geographical Union’s Early Career Research award. Dr.Yenneti has served in research, advocacy and advisory capacities for The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Das Deutsche Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), Chinese Academy of Sciences in China, LandCom University Roundtable in Australia and the Commonwealth Youth Climate Network (CYCN). She is keen on early career researcher development, and is the founding chair of International Geographical Union’s Young and Early-Career Geographers Task Force, chair of the cool building solutions policy group at Berkely Lab, Program Officer for the Royal Geographic Society - Energy Geographies Research Group and Governing body member of International Early Careers Working Group on Geography, Environment and Sustainability.
