Experience
Senior Engineer
Aug 2010 — Present
Design hydraulic quick disconnect couplers, mainly focusing on non-spill and high purity applications. Experience with regimented new product development process, from concept through launch. Regular use of statistical analysis, problem solving (8D, A3), and other lean sigma methods- Extensive experience with highly demanding applications and seal selection for difficult fluid media- Redesign of legacy product based on customer requests and tolerance analysis, to improve performance and reduce cost-Led team of engineers and IT resources for new engineering software implementation and deployment, including PLM software, CAD, analysis, etc- Implementation, standard work documentation, training, drawing and part template maintenance, and real-time support of users\' engineering software-Performed simulation and provided support as a third-party simulation resource for divisional CAE requirements. This has included extensive pre-prototype linear and non-linear stress/strain analysis of heavily loaded components, CFD analysis and flow optimization of new and existing products, and experimentation with hyperelastic simulation of elastomeric components, simulating their behavior in assembly and use-Designed a line of psi working pressure hydraulic couplings for subsea applications-Leveraged this design to develop one of the first to market psi working pressure subsea couplings-Demonstrated expertise creating design report documentation per API 6A and ASME BPVC standards for subsea quick couplings-Applied for patent protection on several design features of subsea quick couplings which reduced failures and improved reliability or usability of the product-Followed detailed engineering methodology to design a competitive interchange coupling for datacenter cooling. Provided world-class engineering support to unseat incumbent supplier in current and future business at a significant new account, aggressively positioning Parker for growth.
