ABOUT BRIAN KOHAYA
Brian Kohaya (He/Him) is an urban planning and community development professional committed to preserving and uplifting AAPI communities through equitable development and affordable housing.He currently works at Enterprise Community Partners, a national nonprofit advancing affordable housing solutions and resources for low-income communities nationwide. Previously, Brian worked at the Little Tokyo Service Center, supporting day-to-day operations at a community-based organization rooted in community control and self-determination in Little Tokyo.Brian is deeply engaged in civic and volunteer leadership in Los Angeles. He served as President of Project by Project Los Angeles (2024–2025), where he recruited over 100 volunteers, led 1,500+ service hours, and helped raise more than in support of the AAPI community.A proud double Bruin, Brian holds a B.A. in Asian American Studies and Psychology (2018) and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (2024) from UCLA. His academic work focused on how equitable development can sustain and protect Los Angeles’ historic cultural neighborhoods.
