About Kofi Bugyei

I am currently a junior and at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University pursuing a degree in Accounting to learn about the data-driven decision making process. The summer of my junior year in high school I never thought something like chocolate ice cream would spark my interest in business. At the Emerging Business Leaders Program at UIUC, I learned about the components of business operations in setting prices for ice cream based on ingredients and utensils, and this taste of accounting in business made me hungrier for what a career in the field could offer. I’m someone who believes in self advocacy to create connections and find opportunities, and through my engagement with the Alumni Outreach Council at the Jellison Living Learning Center (JLLC). I played a pivotal role in creating avenues for students to seek advice from JLLC alumni who could assist them in furthering their education at IU and career goals such as organizing an JLLC Alumni Panel for 500 students. In addition to fostering self advocacy, I’ve furthered my interest in quantitative analysis as an Equity Research Analyst for BLK Capital Management, Inc, where I learned the components of stock portfolio management and created comprehensive pitches on companies such as Clorox, providing strategic recommendations for investment decisions. Looking ahead, I am eager to continue expanding my knowledge in quantitative analysis and enhancing my interpersonal skills at Indiana University. I ultimately hope to become a Certified Public Accountant, enabling me to provide strategic and authentic advisory services for individuals and organizations in the future.
