ABOUT KOFI OWUSU AKYAW ODURO
Working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Manitoba, I work on addressing Food quality concerns by applying knowledge, techniques and skills in Food Chemistry. With the guidance of experienced professors and mentors, I will be conducting several studies on green chemistry technologies and look forward to contributing to multiple publications and presentations. While pursuing my bachelors at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, I gained a solid foundation in food chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and nutrition through various class projects. I have also participated in the Aspire Institute Leadership Program, developing my communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. As an ambassador for the Force for Health Network, I promote health literacy and social justice in global communities. I aspire to become a leader and a change-maker in the field of food science and to improve the well-being and sustainability of the world.My general experiences keep leading me to a career path focused on making food systems safer with people and the environment in mind.
