A business operator-minded, bilingual (Eng/Jpn) corporate lawyer and business advisor with past experiences as corporate innovator, development engineer, systems analyst, researcher, and nonprofit entrepreneur. My experiences span a range of industries: HVAC/building management, AI/IoT, manufacturing, biomanufacturing, and defense at global corporations and a national laboratory as well as education at a nonprofit. By leveraging my legal and technical skills together with my business acumen, I strive to create new value for organizations of all types and sizes. In the future, as a believer in benefit corporations and a proponent of the circular economy, I hope to support organizations from startups to Fortune 500s and even academia/government open new opportunities that can also make a positive impact.In my previous innovation role, I spearheaded a “zero-to-1” new value creation project to devise technology and business development strategies for AI-based predictive maintenance analytics and services. I was also in-charge of strategic alliances, acting as a dot-connector between startups and the R&D/business units of a large manufacturer. Prior to joining corporation innovation, I led a global team of electromechanical specialists and suppliers in developing and commercializing a magnetic bearing system as an engineer. I also had a short stint as an analyst, conducting analysis of various enterprise systems to help with budget planning and re-investment strategies for R&D projects at a national lab. Prior to this, I was a researcher in the sustainable manufacturing space with a focus in data-driven process optimization and sustainable manufacturing systems design.
