My personal breakthrough as a true professional came when I asked myself key questions regarding my clients: 1 - Why couldn’t I use those aspects of myself that seemed most natural? My natural instinct wanted to nurture, to understand what was happening in my client’s world, and to talk through it. 2 - My instincts to get things out in the open and figure out why they were occurring. Why couldn’t I do that? 3 - Why couldn’t I be disarmingly honest all the time? 4 - Why couldn’t I take more time upfront to gather information and do so in way that involved no pressure? 5 - Why couldn’t I bring out my “worry” side and share with them early in the conversation my concerns about possible objections? These natural traits and tendencies, when used at the right time, for the right reasons, put me in a position to excel in a way that is smart, resourceful and unique.
