About Kaitlin Murphy

I am a New York born, New Orleans based web developer, educator, and lifelong learner. My favorite thing is the process of digging into a puzzle, the moment when you finally make sense of the problem, the feeling of building a product that works.I came to web development in a winding path that, with hindsight, makes a measure of sense. Out of college, I entered the working world with an English degree and a smattering of service industry experience. My first position as an Administrative Assistant with Catholic Charities Disabilities Services led to an opportunity to work alongside individuals with developmental disabilities, which inspired me to take a interest in ABA Therapy as a Behavior Therapist for children with Autism. Within a few years, I began work as a teacher in a special program for high school students with exceptionalities; eventually growing to be the Program Lead to 8 students and 2 adults, gaining valuable management and coaching experience.These are natural steps, though from there - a bit of a leap. As the pandemic forced classrooms into the virtual world, I became interested in technology and the way it shapes our experiences whether in education or in leisure. I became a web developer because I\'m interested in design and engineering; I keep the values of teamwork, accessibility, and learning close to my work because of everything that came before.
