I work at the intersection of journalism, product, data, and civic technology. My career has focused on building systems that help news organizations serve the public better, especially in moments that demand new tools and new ways of thinking. I’ve developed first-of-their-kind initiatives across local, national, and nonprofit news, including DocumentCloud, ProPublica’s news applications team, Electionland, THE CITY’s AI-driven coverage audit, and the Knight Election Hub.My work is grounded in rapid prototyping, cross-functional leadership, collaboration across organizations, and a strong belief that data and technology can expand the reach and relevance of journalism. I’m most effective in roles where creativity, agility, and connective leadership are recognized as core assets, and where organizations are looking to imagine and build what comes next.

   Jun 2018 — Present

   Co-founded DocumentCloud, the open-source platform that transformed document-based investigative reporting and is now a core part of MuckRock, a platform used by thousands of newsrooms and hosts more than 110 million pages of public records. As Board President, I help guide strategy and help Muckrock\'s leadership maintain the organization\'s role as essential infrastructure for transparency and investigative journalism.
