ABOUT KRISHNAKUMAR VENKATARAMAN
I am an experienced power generation industry leader with a deep technical background in engineering design. The combination of market acumen, commercial understanding, operational experience and technical depth equips me uniquely as both a product management executive and an engineering executive. I began my career in combustion design as a component design engineer. As a recognized SME, I authored several design practices, led the combustion test review board and taught the combustion course for rotating Edison engineers. When I became a manager in combustion design, I owned the aerothermal performance of GE’s F&H class fleet. In this role, I led NPI (New Product Introduction)/NTI (New Technology Introduction) programs, Fleet RCA resolution, Supply chain quality support, and sales fulfillment support.Having established my brand in combustion design, I became the System Integration Leader responsible for performance, operability and combustion in a new engine development program. My performance in this role enabled me to transition to being the Engineering Platform Manager for GE’s new 7HA.02 gas turbine. I owned the overall system design of this engine including balancing the risk level across the engine, serving as the arbiter on inter-module risk trades and CTQ trades, and coordinating with supply chain. I was also the engineering representative with both product line and sales, translating customer CTQs to engineering requirements and engaging in customer discussions. I also supported product line in the development of the multi-generation product plan for HA engines. My interaction with product line and customers led naturally to my role in product line with Power Services as a product management executive, where I own one of GE’s most profitable product lines, the 7F gas turbine. At Nextera Energy, I have been involved in operations and maintenance of equipment that I designed at GE in the fossil fleet. Over the last 4 years, I have also led the engineering team at Nextera in the solar and storage area driving industry leading availability performance in the fleet. After spending time leading wind engineering, I am now the Vice President of Engineering for close to 65GW of generation in the Power Generation Division at Nextera Energy.
