About Karin Shank
With a wide scope of research topics, constantly changing technologies and resources, and the variety of tasks in a specialized information center, I find myself learning new things every day. And I love that! The world of information is overwhelming and growing faster every day, and my expertise is sifting through all of the noise to find the nuggets which will be most useful in addressing the questions at hand. I most enjoy projects where I can synthesize all the pertinent information around a new topic, and work in partnership with my clients to solve their challenges. I have an accredited Masters in Library Science, and professional experience in business, economic development, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, regulatory, health and agricultural information research. My scientific background includes a dual M.S. in Crop Science and Botany and experience working as a molecular biologist and analytical biochemist (proteins and lipids) in academic and corporate laboratories. I enjoy writing and proofreading, was editor of my high school paper, and as an undergraduate earned an English minor along with my Biology major.
