About Katie Sieverman

Hi - I\'m Katie, and here\'s my story in three paragraphs: My career began as a movie theater employee when I was 16 and continued with a variety of odd jobs until I graduated college. From there, I spent 8 years as an academic researcher. My subject matter expertise is in biology (and some chemistry)- I love learning and thinking about life and the natural world. In 2018, I transitioned away from bench science to positions that tap more into my leadership and communication skills. Along the way, I gained nearly 5 years of experience as a teaching faculty member at multiple institutions within higher ed. When the pandemic hit, I entered the world of digital content and product management in EdTech. I currently serve as the Director of Content at Codon Learning where I collaborate with our amazing team to build tools that help college instructors and students use more evidence-based teaching and learning practices. In true stereotypical startup fashion, I wear many hats in my current role, ranging from strategic whole-business decision making to project and people management to nitty gritty editorial improvements. I\'m a long-term idealist and short-term pragmatist. If I have brought a moment of joy to someone else, then I consider my day successful.

   Recruit and manage a team of content contributors- Develop and implement editorial standards for digital educational content- Serve as project manager for multiple large, complex projects- Conduct UX research and market research to ensure content and product align with market needs- Build a content roadmap and iterate on content strategy as needs and resources change- Author and edit a wide range of content including formative assessment questions, digital textbook replacement sections, and marketing materials- Collaborate with development team, director of product, customer experience team, and sales team to ensure customers have a positive experience and value the product
