ABOUT KJ LUDWIG
Hello! My name is KJ Ludwig, and I\'m a student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a BS in Neuroscience with honors and a BS in Chemistry with a focus in synthesis and chemical biology. I plan to attend graduate school for neuroscience after I complete my undergraduate studies. I\'m passionate about advancing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases and further understanding the neurobiology of how we learn and form memories.I currently work as an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Alison Preston in the Center for Learning and Memory, where I am studying hierarchical categorical learning as children develop. I also work in the FRI stream Gene Networks under Dr. Albert MacKrell, where I study how ribonucleoprotein complexes affect splicing that leads to differences in genetic expression. Outside of the classroom, I\'m involved in the UT neuroscience organization Synapse, Texas Brain Exercise Initiative, American Chemical Society, choir, and I volunteer at Austin Animal Center.
