About Kirtan Kumar Sahu
I am a CAE engineer with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and hands-on research experience as a Junior Research Fellow. My journey has revolved around solving complex structural problems through simulations—ranging from hydraulic and telescopic multistage cylinders, where I developed generalized buckling models in ANSYS and Abaqus, to vehicle frames and suspension systems, where I applied LS-DYNA for crash and vibration analysis. With expertise in meshing large assemblies, nonlinear material modeling, and simulation-driven design, I enjoy bridging theory and practice to create efficient, reliable, and innovative solutions. I am passionate about advancing product development through advanced CAE workflows and contributing to challenging projects in transport, automation, and mechanical system design.In support of my research and academic outreach, I’ve conducted vibration experiments using accelerometer sensors and scanning laser vibrometers, both for validation purposes and for live demonstrations to graduate and postgraduate students. These hands-on experiments strengthened my understanding of structural dynamics and system identification.I’m currently expanding into Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) and AI/ML applications in mechanics, aiming to merge data-driven intelligence with physics-based simulation to solve real-world engineering challenges.
