ABOUT KIRSTY DEVANEY
Kirsty Devaney is a composer and lecturer at the Royal College of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her practice centres on breaking down barriers to creative music making, creating progression routes for young composers including establishing the Young Composers Project at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her research into the assessment of composing in secondary schools won the Anna Craft Award from the British Educational Research Association Award. As a composer she specialises in composing works with and for non-professional and youth ensembles with her music being aired on BBC Radio 3 and shortlisted for a British Composer Award.
