As Director I develop, organize, and facilitate programs for the City of LA Dept of Rec & Parks. My experience in running Rec Centers ranges from low income, subsidized, at risk communities to Full Cost Recovery Centers in more affluent communities. My expertise specializes in programming and managing for all ages from youth to Mature adults, sports, camps, classes, special events, and citywide programming, as well as Disaster Service. As Director I am responsible for the day to day operations of the facility, including marketing and advertising, multi-generational programming, sports, cultural, educational, and event programming, staff management and team-building, accounting, partnerships, inter-department communications, ordering, and facility maintenance. I have been responsible for hiring and training of over 100 staff in best practices for CAL OSHA and all safety measures as well as training for Staff Development while ensuring all EEO practices are met and followed.While as Director at Cheviot Hills Rec, I developed multiple partnerships with community businesses resulting in movie nights with FOX Studios, Acting classes with Pacific Resident Theater, dance classes with Soho Dance Academy, and a Grant funded Senior Acting and Creative Play program. I also developed a community garden and established care for it.I actively run outreach with local community groups via presentations and events focusing on awareness and inclusion to the parks and programs.I am a member of the ARTS LA Alliance that develops Community based Cultural Events. I am also working on the collection of historical images of our West Region Centers to conclude in a Region wide presentation and passport program for patrons to participate in.At the Westchester Senior Center, I oversee programming and marketing for Mature adults, including scheduling activities, classes, sports, trips, health fairs and programs to attend and benefit the 50+ population.
