ABOUT KIRSTEN MIDURA

I am a career climate leader and change agent specializing in the intersection of sustainability, technology, economic development, and social impact. I have led programs around the world, from implementing circular economy solutions with the UNDP in Samoa, to leading rural development programs in Nicaragua, spearheading global offshore wind energy supply chain assessments for BTM and FTI, and running humanitarian motorcycle rides in Pakistan supporting local schools. I currently run Climate Curious, Portland, OR’s impact network of climate professionals and enthusiasts, as well as helping lead the development of the world’s first Bioregional Financing Facility dedicated to marine regeneration.I have lectured at institutions such as Harvard University, Pratt Institute, and Founder Institute, and authored presentations for the Explorers Club, the Zero Waste Conference in Costa Rica, and the NGO Committee on Sustainable Development-NY, among others. During my bachelors degree in Foreign Policy, I studied abroad at the United Nations in Geneva, completing a program in International Organizations and Social Justice. I then completed my Master of Environment in Energy Studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia, specializing in offshore energy technologies. A community builder and impact entrepreneur, I have worked with nonprofits, consulting firms, start-ups, and federal agencies on strategic planning, change management, evaluation, and program design and implementation.I also am a leader in the motorcycle industry, running Engines for Change, a nonprofit that leverages motorcycles as tools for economic development, empowerment, and community building. In my \"spare time\" I also am a filmmaker, photographer, and musician.
