ABOUT KIRSTEN MACMILLAN
I am passionate about climate change, protecting people and nature, and creating a better world. I use this passion with my skills to find solutions to the challenging problems we face. As a Climate Resiliency Specialist, I focus both technical climate risk and resilience work and on capacity building. I have worked on climate vulnerability and risk assessments in Canada and internationally including green and grey infrastructure, community health, ecosystems, mining and agriculture. I have developed, facilitated and delivered climate training and workshops to many audiences including engineers, environmental professionals, and federal and municipal government staff. I have a dual degree Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Development Studies, which provides an interdisciplinary mindset on technical and social aspects of climate change and resilience.
