ABOUT KIRSTEN DURWARD

I work with schools and educators to strengthen learning, build purposeful leadership, and integrate AI in ways that are practical, ethical, and human-centred. As a global consultant, coach, and workshop facilitator, I support teams to improve pedagogical effectiveness, develop leadership capability, and move forward with clarity, confidence, and impact. My current work focuses on:• Improving instructional quality and learning clarity• Responsible, future-ready integration of AI in schools• Leadership development and coaching for senior & middle leaders• Curriculum coherence, assessment design, and professional growth models• Supporting individual educators in career development and transitionsI bring 25 years of international experience across eight schools in seven countries, including leadership roles as Head of Primary, Curriculum & Professional Development Coordinator, and Learning Coach. My leadership approach centres on building relational trust, establishing clear, shared goals, analysing capacity and performance honestly, and using data and feedback loops to drive sustainable improvement. My pedagogical stance is grounded in constructivist, learning-focused, research-informed practice. I partner with schools to strengthen coherence, elevate instructional practice, and ensure learning is meaningful, inclusive, and effective for all students.Beyond school-based roles, I have built global professional learning communities that support thousands of educators. One community was recognised in an Education International special report to UNESCO as an effective educator-led response worldwide; others support international career development and PYP leadership, and are widely valued by educators and recruiters. We are entering a new era in education, and I work with schools and organisations ready to navigate this shift with clarity, capacity, and purpose.
