ABOUT KIRRIN GILL

Kirrin Gill is a gender, health and development expert with over 25 years of experience. Her current work focuses on gender and innovation. She also has extensive experience in women’s and girls’ empowerment and health, SRH, maternal health and HIV and AIDS prevention. Her research examines what works and why, and she works with organizations and their partners to strengthen programs and policy through evidence generation, capacity building, and monitoring, learning and evaluation. To inform strategic planning and policy, her research identified best practice and the interconnections between gender equality, poverty and wellbeing. To build capacity, she developed user-friendly technical guidelines and toolkits for policy makers, program managers, and field-level workers. To improve results, she developed participatory monitoring, learning and evaluation processes and tools to engage key stakeholders in refining development initiatives. She has written landmark publications for international agencies, NGOs, the private sector and international journals, such as the Lancet. Her work explores why key gender issues like maternal health, women’s leadership and the gender gap in technology use matter for international development. Her employers have included UNICEF, Intel, ICRW, PATH, The World Bank, CARE and The Nike Foundation. Ms. Gill is an American citizen living in Nice, France.
