About Kirk Cram

I like to solve puzzles and help people. I bring a diverse set of skills to any operation and am always open to pursuing new challenges. I combine attention to detail, quality control, and operational efficiency with attention to people, quality relationships, and individual fulfillment. I\'ve successfully built cohesion within teams and across organizations in a variety of sectors, including consulting, laboratory testing, and business development. Outside of work I enjoy getting into the outdoors, taking in live music, spending time with friends and family, cooking for others, playing the drums, and supporting Maine artisans and farmers.

Experience

  1. Project Manager

    WSP in the U.S.

Jan 2024 — Present · Portland, ME, US

Since joining the team at WSP\'s Portland, Maine office - I\'ve been engaged in a variety of projects. My main focus has been supporting work under our NYSDEC contract; largely focused on Phase II remediation programs. These sites require bespoke solutions to address contamination from emerging and legacy contaminants across all environmental media. I\'ve also served as a technical advisor on unique sampling and testing requirements to address site-specific challenges, while collaborating and providing thought leadership on sustainability initiatives driven by the CLCPA. As of February 2025, I\'ve been serving as Team Leader to the majority of our chemistry and data science group. With this opportunity, I\'m working as a change agent while advising and mentoring a diverse group of junior and senior scientists. It also allows me to engage with other offices within WSP to identify best practices and collaborate across programs and projects, while aiding office and executive leadership with broader initiatives.Key Achievements: Quickly learned NYSDEC programmatic and contract requirements. Surpassed expected onboarding schedule, becoming dedicated PM within 4 months of hire. Advised teams on materials sample handling, testing, and designing project-specific SAP based on case-specifics. Provided change management and thought leadership promptly, leading informally and supporting internal initiatives. Became Team Leader in 12 months.
