ABOUT ALEX CLEM
I am a petroleum engineering professional with 10 years of industry experience in the upstream oil and gas sector. The majority of my corporate experience has been spent with Scout Energy Partners between 20••••25. While at Scout, I primarily executed two functions: Business Development & Production Operations. I demonstrate high proficiencies in analyzing and interpreting data, as well as identifying, formulating, and solving complex problems. I’m an ambitious individual who approaches every task in a detailed, analytical manner and with a drive to follow every project to the end. I exemplify the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context. I possess a true passion for this industry and I give all my energy to make sure that is known every step of the way. I served as Scout\'s Business Development Engineer from 20••••21. While in that role, I screened approximately 300 acquisition opportunities, conducted full economic analysis on 120 opportunities using PHDWin & ComboCurve, and successfully acquired 22 asset packages, from companies like Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Devon, Hess, Linn Energy, Riviera Resources, Pioneer Natural Resources, and many lesser-known names. In total, Scout deployed more than $1.1 Billion during my tenure as Business Development Engineer. To date, the ROI on those investments is more than 1.5 as they continue to provide steady cash flow for Scout, and will be sold at the end of their fund life between 2027 & 2031. I have also served functions as Operations Engineer across multiple assets including the Hugoton Embayment in SW Kansas, waterfloods in the Northwest Shelf of Texas, and mature conventional oil and gas production in the Val Verde Basin of Texas. In these roles, my responsibilities included conducting quarterly well reviews with the field team to identify low hanging optimization opportunities such as workovers, compressor/meter consolidations, plunger lift optimization, etc. I also worked closely with Scout\'s Geology/Exploitation team to identify & execute on behind pipe add-pay opportunities. While serving as an Operations Engineer in Kansas from 20••••24, I was responsible for conducting semi-annual reserves/value redeterminations which included producing wells, Jayhawk Gas Processing Plant, and Scout owned gathering infrastructure. I also negotiated and executed a farmout agreement to be developed with 3rd party capital to drill 25+wells per year over a two-year period in the Hugoton Embayment.
