ABOUT KIRK HALPERN

Kirk Halpern, Founder & CEO of Farmers & Fishermen, is an award-winning entrepreneurial businessman with world-wide prominence in the meat and seafood industry. Well-known for building an employee-centered culture and purposeful workplace, Halpern was named by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of Atlanta’s “Most Admired CEOs” in 2023. With over 30 plus years of progressive and successful experience, leading operations, mentoring employees, and strategic decision-making, he has earned his way as a respected leader and valued expert in the world of food. Halpern launched Farmers & Fishermen in 2019, with his son Ben Halpern, who serves as Executive Vice President, and pivoted to create one of the fastest-growing, celebrated companies in the nation supplying their valued food service with the highest quality meat, seafood, and specialty products available. When the pandemic hit, Halpern added a home delivery service overnight to help those social distancing and kept all his employees working with no furloughs or pay reductions. He hired his employee’s family members and as a family-owned business, put all families first. With his highly trained team and a fleet of refrigerated Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, assisted small farmers and fishermen and other food businesses to reach customers, while keeping his team purposefully employed. As a committed volunteer, Kirk’s dedicated non-profit leadership includes having served as the Board Chair and currently the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Directors at Goodwill of North Georgia. A long-standing member, Halpern held multiple positions during his eleven-year tenure on the board. Named a “Titan 100” for two consecutive years, Halpern’s company Farmers & Fishermen, has also won numerous awards reflecting a fulfilling and purposeful workplace independently measured by employees. In 2023, the company was the recipient of The Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “Pacesetter Award” and ranked seventh as “Best Places to Work”. Farmers & Fishermen has also been listed as a “Top Workplace” by The Atlanta Journal & Constitution and featured both locally and nationally in the media as a business making a significant difference. Previously in his career, Kirk Halpern was the Founder & CEO of Halperns’ Steak & Seafood Purveyors and served as President of Buckhead Beef Company. He graduated from Duke University School of Law with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude.
