About Kirk Erickson
The future of neuroscience lies in how we preserve cognitive performance through earlier life stages to maintain optimal neuroplasticity as we age. As the director and senior investigator for the AdventHealth Translational Neuroscience Institute, my chief mission is to optimize brain health through dynamic and trusted research. Currently, I am the principal investigator in a national, NIH-funded study called Investigating Gains in Neurocognition in an Intervention Trial of Exercise (IGNITE). This study examines whether exercise is capable of improving cognitive performance and brain function in late adulthood.My expertise lies in- Alzheimer’s research- Healthy Aging- NeuroimagingSo how does a neuroscientist keep one’s brain active?
