WORK HISTORY
Founder and CEO @Catenae Advisory
So I jumped in at the deep end and set up my own consultancy business, providing fractional support to founders to help them unlock their scaling plans (full details in About section). So far so good, it’s been everything I’ve wanted from it, both good fun and making a real impact. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a good bank of clients that have all stayed with me for much longer than envisaged. There’s been some great wins, a couple of highlights being one client growing MRR from £35k to £100k in just over a year and passing breakeven in the process, another successfully raising £3m through a mixture of equity and debt and another making a successful acquisition. Alongside the company specific work, I’ve also helped Fhunded set up their angel network, joined Baltic Ventures as a mentor and launched a weekly newsletter, Unconventurenal, talking about all things scaling and fundraising.

ABOUT KIRAN MEHTA
You\'ve overcome the first big hurdle: you’ve built and shipped a product and you have users. Maybe you\'ve raised a seed round, maybe you\'ve bootstrapped to £20k+ MRR. Either way, clients are paying and you\'ve proven there\'s a market for what you\'re building. However, most things are working through effort rather than design. Sales are happening but growth is lumpy and there\'s no repeatable process. You’re building what you think clients want but there’s no data driven process to confirm that. You’ve made a few hires, some are working out but some aren’t. Teams are working well but often in silos and it’s falling to you to weave it together when you’d rather be focussed on winning new clients, driving product strategy or preparing for the next phase of growth. You know you need to fix it but it’s hard to find the time. You\'ve thought about hiring a senior operator but you\'re not ready for that cost or commitment. You\'ve spoken to advisors but you don\'t need someone telling you what to do, you need someone who will both diagnose the problems and actually get in the trenches and help you solve them. This is where I help founders. I work as a fractional operator, embedded alongside founding teams to surface more data, put in some light structure and give clarity on what needs to change across GTM, product, ops and finance. What that looks like depends on the needs of each business. With some it\'s building out RevOps dashboards to help narrow your ICP and focus on the clients that provide the highest value with the shortest sales cycles. With some it\'s about putting in place OKRs and KPIs to help the CEO get out of the day-to-day. Ensuring you are prepping for a series-A at least 6 months ahead of time is a regular focus area too, as are smaller things like refining pricing (quick tip: you\'re probably undercharging) or setting up customer advisory boards. Whatever the need, the goal is the same: ensuring the business is built to grow revenue while removing bottlenecks and giving the founder some time and sanity back. I solely work with businesses at seed stage or beyond, who are either generating at least £20k MRR or have raised over £500k. If you\'re pre-seed, I\'m probably not the right person yet but my daily content might help in the meantime. Every engagement is scoped around what the business needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Initial projects are usually 3 or 6 months, though most of my clients choose to keep me around for a lot longer. If you’re thinking that sounds like the kind of help I need, please drop me a DM to arrange a chat.
