ABOUT KIRAN KAUR

Kiran Kaur is the Co-founder and CEO of GirlDreamer, a UK non-profit organisation tackling social and economic inequity by creating greater access to leadership and wellbeing opportunities for young women of colour from diaspora communities. She holds the distinction of being the youngest Trustee at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) in England and Wales and currently serves as Chair of the Board at Home Girls Unite, a charity aiding firstborn daughters from immigrant families. Kiran is also a European Obama Leader and a UN Women UK Delegate at CSW68, with a current secondment at the University of Birmingham to research and assess the impact of women’s development programmes.My experience in the social sector spans over 10 years, starting as a volunteer before setting up my own non-profit. This journey has allowed me to make significant impact by delivering innovative programmes and initiatives that have supported thousands of young women in developing their skills, building their confidence, and achieving their full potential.Beyond my professional accomplishments, I have a deep appreciation for personal balance. My personal hobbies include playing the piano, archery, and following an Ayurvedic lifestyle. These interests provide a refreshing counterbalance to my work, allowing me identify with myself away from my professional roles.I firmly believe in the power of collaboration and community, and I am continuously motivated to bring together like-minded individuals and organisations to work towards a more inclusive and equitable world.
