ABOUT KIP MECHALS
Kip Mechals has been in the financial industry since 1989, specializing in retirement planning, wealth management, and wealth preservation strategies. Along with his financial planning partner Eric Adler, Kip advocates a conservative investment approach and uses tactical investment management to pursue client goals. Early in his career, Kip discovered that what he enjoys most about working in the financial industry is the long-term connection he forms with clients and their families. In he co-founded Cascadia Wealth Management and was instrumental in its growth. However, Kip realized later that working as an owner/manager took him away from building relationships with clients. Thus, he sold his interest with Cascadia and refocused his energies on assisting clients. He helps them develop financial plans and investment strategies that meet their needs specifically. He also advises them on their short- and long-term goals with the best tax advantages and appropriate risk tolerance. Before Kip fell in love with finance, he was very much into art. He initially enrolled as an art major at Western Oregon State College with an eye on building a photography business. To reach this goal, Kip supplemented his studies with business classes. While taking business classes, Kip recognized that he had a natural aptitude for finance. So, he changed his major from art to finance and graduated with a business degree and a minor in economics in 1988. Outside the office, Kip loves spending quality time with his wife Jody and their two children. He and Jody are empty-nesters now, with their daughter married and their son in college. While they shape their newfound freedom as they go, they make it a point to travel and spend time with their kids as much as they can. This means following their son and his college baseball team to their games during the season and visiting their daughter and her family in Colorado. Kip and Jody also indulge in mountain biking and plan on incorporating this into their future travel plans.
