TAX ACCOUNTINGResponsible for improving and maintaining comprehensive accounting processes to ultimately ensure the adequacy of U.S. GAAP accounting for income taxes for the worldwide operations of the Company. Monitor and communicate to senior management historical and forecasted effective tax rates, current and deferred tax posture, analysis and determination of valuation allowances worldwide, and APB 23 indefinite reinvestment assertions. Ensure proper analysis of tax exposures, including the determination of appropriate tax reserves pursuant to Company policy, SFAS 109, FIN 48 and FAS 5. RESPONSIBILITIES:• Responsible for the accuracy and adequacy of the financial statement tax provision for the worldwide operations of the Company and all other relevant tax-related information in the financial statements for U.S. GAAP and IFRS. Assure that all deferred tax balances are correct.• Develop improvements to the Company’s control framework and reporting infrastructure to assure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Manage tax risk for the Company by ensuring that all Ally corporate tax department policies are applied consistently by countries within the overseas entities.• Timely analyze, communicate and document all material tax contingency items and summarize on quarterly basis. Ensure reserves are properly recorded, where necessary, to conform with U.S. GAAP.• Lead in the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax footnote and financial statement disclosures in SEC filings, including MD & A support and segment reporting.
