As a Senior Budget and Finance Analyst, I support the City of Charlotte’s long-term financial planning and transit funding strategies, ensuring compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines and internal performance standards.I collaborate with the Budget Manager and departmental leadership to develop, manage, and monitor complex operating and capital budgets, while delivering strategic insights that inform executive decision-making.Core Responsibilities- Assist with development of long-term financial plans and annual budgets- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for the Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC)- Support Federal, State, and Local audits, including FTA Triennial Reviews- Review and analyze budget requests; lead development meetings with division managers- Prepare financial reports and recommendations for the CFO and executive leadership- Manage day-to-day budget operations, including requisitions, purchase orders, PSRs, and invoices- Maintain accurate ledgers, journal entries, and account setups for capital projects and operating funds- Monitor expenditures, accruals, and compliance with City Finance and MTC policies- Analyze internal and cross-departmental expenses for accuracy and appropriateness- Collaborate with staff and Budget Officer to ensure financial data integrity and reporting accuracy.
