Enforces safety regulations, monitor work procedures and habits, monitor environmental conditions, including the inspection and evaluation of all safety problem areas. Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency. Prepares reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards. Reviews identified accident trends, develops specific safety training requirements, and implements corrective actions. Perform waste intrusion investigations, indoor air quality investigations, mold assessments, industrial hygiene exposure monitoring, safety, and OSHA compliance audits. Conducts Safety and Health compliance reviews on Work Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, Site Safety and Health Plans and associated subplans developed by contractors for Hazardous Toxic Radiological Waste investigation and cleanup activities. Monitors Hazardous Toxic Radiological Waste contractor activities for compliance with the accepted safety and health plans and requirements during project execution through periodic on-site quality assurance site activities. Reviews environmental and occupational sampling and monitoring results from historical data and as they are being generated during field work.
