ABOUT SYLVIA KING
Since I was 15, I have been honing my skills and gaining hands-on experience, always ready to embrace new challenges. Currently, I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Guelph, double majoring in English and Sociology. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve developed strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, which have been further strengthened through my involvement in various extracurricular activities.I’ve had the privilege of taking on leadership roles such as a Senior Residence Assistant and University Ambassador, where I mentored peers, led tours, and organized events. I was honoured to be recognized with the Best Team Player award for my leadership and commitment to fostering supportive communities. My passion for mental health advocacy through SHINE and my love for literature in the Poets Society have also been key areas where I’ve contributed to creating meaningful experiences for my peers.Looking ahead, my goal is to earn a Teaching degree and gain my teaching certifications in Europe in 2026, bringing the lessons I’ve learned from my experiences abroad back to Canada. Through my academic studies, leadership roles, and volunteer work, I’ve built a solid foundation to pursue my passion for education, and I’m eager to use these skills to make a lasting impact on students’ lives.
