ABOUT KIM PLOWRIGHT

I am an artist, award-winning creative producer, digital product manager, consultant and educator, with more than two decades of experience designing and delivering high profile, user-focused immersive and digital projects. I am a structural, creative systems thinker with proven ability to combine strategic thinking and audience insight to solve complex problems. I have worked on projects where the internet, art, games and \'old\' media fight like excitable kittens in a sack for clients including Channel 4, the BBC, the Royal Opera House, Wellcome, the NFTS and FutureLearn. Many of these projects have won awards, including a BAFTA, an Emmy, several Webbys, BIMAs, Broadcast Digital, RTS awards, and a nomination for the Tate’s IK Prize. I am a respected teacher and mentor focussed on industry best practice in digital production, and helped set up and run the National Film and Television School’s first postgraduate course in Creative Producing for Digital Platforms. I have a secret double life as an artist, working with drawing, memory and embodied identity, but don\'t really admit this in public often. One of my drawings was long listed for the 2021 Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize. Skills- Strategy, product management, product definition, roadmap development, project definition- Teaching and coaching, presentation and public speaking- Project management of complex projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams in lightweight agile, traditional waterfall and ‘fragile’ environments- Managing technical development and delivery: workflow, gathering and prioritising requirements, testing, accessibility, and QA for VR, mobile apps, CMS-backed websites, social and games projects- Content strategy and production, video and audio production, social media and community management in a business and creative context- Board-level client management (including contributing to successful pitching), stakeholder management, supplier selection, contract negotiation- User-centred design, user research, UX, concept visualisation, prototyping and documentation- Developing fine art practice in drawing.
