ABOUT KIM ORACHESKI
An idealist by nature and engineer by trade, my passion lies in establishing meaningful connections and channeling my time and energy towards impactful causes, addressing problems that I am uniquely equipped to solve. I\'ve made a career pivot into data and analytics and am committed to bringing better data literacy and the use of data strategies to the oil and gas industry. As an engineer who takes a collaborative approach to meeting challenges, I leverage my technical background to help engineering groups make use of data workflows, while building out a data strategy that is appropriate for the business.Outside of my regular career, I volunteer extensively with the SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) and currently serve as the North American Regional Director on the International Board of Directors, representing Canada and the Rockies. The SPE is a professional society whose core purpose is to provide shared expertise, resources, and life-long learning opportunities to fuel the success of our members and the future of the industry. Striking the balance as a doer and collaborator is key to navigating difficult times and coming out on top as we face significant headwinds and changes in our industry. I hope that the impact that I will leave behind is a rekindled pride for those who\'ve built their careers in oil and gas, as well as ignite interest for younger people in joining the industry.
