ABOUT KIMORA LEE HARRIS-TAYLOR

I’m a legal professional holding a B.A.(Hons) in Criminology from York University and a certified ABA approved Paralegal through Oakland University. I am a dedicated legal professional with a focus on prison reform and restorative justice, gender-based violence, particularly in the areas of family law and intimate partner violence. Beyond my legal work, I am also a youth leader, mentor, researcher, published author, and the founder of Youth Unlocked, a nonprofit organization that supports marginalized and justice-involved youth through mentorship, education, and advocacy, focusing on several SDG’s.I currently teach Environmental Law to high school students, helping them understand the connections between legal systems, environmental justice, and civic responsibility. My research and advocacy explore critical issues such as prison reform, HIV in prison populations, police brutality, and systemic gender-based violence.I am the author of “Police Brutality and Its Unseen Victims,” a work that examines the emotional and social toll of state violence. Through all that I do, I am deeply committed to uplifting Black and Indigenous youth, dismantling systemic barriers, and promoting equity, healing, and restorative justice.At the heart of my work is a passion for youth empowerment. I strive to create safe spaces where young girls can find their voices and lead with confidence, resilience, and purpose.
