During my 20-year tenure at American Campus Communities, I was a member the executive leadership team as both CFO and CAO and played a key role in growing the company from a $300 million IPO in 2004 (NYSE: ACC) into the nation’s largest owner, developer, and manager of student housing communities, culminating in a $13 billion go-private valuation when ACC was acquired by Blackstone in 2022.
