WORK HISTORY
Group HR Manager @Eastern Western Motor Group
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, I hold responsibility for the full people agenda within Scotland’s second largest family owned Motor Group. I joined the organisation in 1997 supporting 300 colleagues across 8 locations and have since played a central role in shaping the Group as it grew to more than 1800 colleagues and 50 businesses operating across more than 50 sites with 16 franchise partners. As the organisation expanded, I became a key strategic partner to the Board and senior leaders, guiding the people implications of growth, acquisitions, organisational change and the harmonisation of terms and conditions. This has included extensive experience in TUPE, complex integrations and the design of people structures that support both commercial and operational goals.I lead a multi disciplined team of 8 covering employee relations, payroll and recruitment. Together we deliver a comprehensive People Plan that aligns colleague experience, culture, performance and workforce planning with the needs of the business. I work closely with operational directors, site leaders and franchise partners to ensure decisions are data informed, future focused and commercially sound.A significant part of my role has been to modernise the colleague experience and streamline processes across a large and diverse estate. I led the introduction of colleague self service and delivered Axle, our digital HR assistant designed to provide instant guidance to colleagues and managers. Both programmes have driven measurable improvements to efficiency, accessibility and decision making and have strengthened the Group’s ability to manage people effectively at scale. My focus throughout has been to embed a people strategy that supports sustainable growth, protects culture and enables colleagues to perform at their best while meeting the current and future needs of the business.
