1. Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing

   I lead a team of ten people, leveraging a budget of $3 million to serve the members of Indiana’s largest union. Spanning every aspect of communications, member engagement and marketing; my department drives critical audience engagement informed by data-driven strategies to grow and strengthen the association, advocate for its members and the 1 million Hoosier students they serve. In addition to core responsibilities driving member recruitment and engagement, I’ve led teams spanning three strategic initiatives from political advocacy and social justice to policy development and professional excellence, as well as enterprise operations such as digital engagement, media, content strategy and creative services. I led the team that developed and implemented a funding plan for public schools resulting in the largest increase in funding in the state’s history in 2021. In 2022, we were the only red state in the country to defeat legislation designed to prevent educators from teaching the truth of our nation\'s history. I am also responsible for strategic coordination and support across communications and member engagement operations in 300 of our local affiliates. I serve on the ISTA leadership team and provide strategic communications counsel to the president, vice president, treasurer, board of directors and the executive director.
