ABOUT KIM WILFORD

Kim Wilford brings almost three decades of experience to her work helping start-up to publicly-traded companies drive innovation and growth while safeguarding against risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.As the Chief Legal Officer of GoFundMe, Inc, she is responsible for running the company\'s in-house legal function and overseeing risk, compliance, platform integrity, security and customer care. She is also the Chairman of the Board of GoFundMe.org ( a 501(c)(3)), an independent organization.Kim joined WageWorks, Inc. in 2008 and spent a decade there as its SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary helping to build the venture-backed consumer-directed benefits business and overseeing its legal functions and operations, as the company grew from a Series D start-up to a $380M company (NYSE: WAGE).Prior to WageWorks, Kim served as senior corporate counsel at Aricent, Inc, and as corporate counsel and associate general counsel for KLA-Tencor Corporation (NASDAQ: KLAC). Over the course of her in-house career, Kim has repeatedly built internal consensus and collaborated with business unit leaders—pioneering compliant change in step with the evolution of the crowdfunding, fin-tech, healthcare and semiconductor industries. Examples include ensuring that GoFundMe complies with any relevant fundraising and financial services legislation around the world, leading WageWorks through its multi-phase IPO, and co-managing numerous strategic transactions while at KLA-Tencor.One of Kim’s most rewarding undertakings in the past year has been operationalizing GoFundMe.org and working with that team to readily assist those in need and advocate for change. While she was at WageWorks, she also founded and grew WageWorks’ social responsibility program. Out of the office, Kim is an avid runner and swimmer, participating on a Bay Area running team and on a Masters swim team at Stanford since the late ‘90s. Kim and her husband enjoy traveling, cycling, and scuba diving.
