My non-profit started as a women’s only support group in 2017 and has morphed into a global community of women who need support within groups that understand their specific needs. Next Step is our non-recovery psych educational group for women and an online resource for mental health and personal care. The goal is to lower barrier to gain knowledge that empowers women by providing free resources in the form of group meetings. We have buddy system concept extended from our recovery sponsorship model and have women who finish their steps lead the meetings. We have guest speakers in the mental health and business fields to give hope to others taking the Next Step in their journeys. Our other groups center around recovery with CoDA Meetings & ACA Meetings. We are working on adding several other meetings from AA to WFS. We need women leaders around the country that feel aligned with our goal to consider volunteering in some format.
