   Manage a significant single-plaintiff employment litigation caseload arising out of supercenters/neighborhood markets and supply chain facilities in twenty-seven states, as well as responsible for employment litigation involving all eCommerce brands and Home Office associates nationwide; • Hire, retain and oversee outside counsel nationwide, including approving/denying and monitoring budgets, as well as negotiating rates and alternative fee arrangements; • Responsible for reviewing and editing all pleadings filed and/or served on behalf of the company and serve as the corporate representative in high-stakes mediations and settlement conferences involving plaintiffs and governmental agencies; • Advise executive leadership and HR field teams on employment and HR topics nationwide, including, but not limited to, ADA, USERRA, FMLA, ADEA, Title VII, leaves of absence, investigations, third-party agreements, social media, recruiting, and criminal background checks; • Managed responses to administrative charges and attorney demand letters and collaborated with business partners to develop and deliver relevant trainings to HR associates and store management teams; • Worked abroad providing legal and compliance support to international market teams; and • Collaborated with law firms in developing diversity, equity and inclusion programs, managed the legal department’s participation with diverse bar associations and organizations, as well as monitored the legal department’s budget for diversity programming.
