ABOUT KIMBERLY N. MOORE
I serve as the Executive Director of Diversity, Inclusion & Development for the San Diego Unified School District, leading equity-centered systems that nurture, develop, and sustain educators and leaders from hire to retire. With 29 years of experience as an educator, associate principal, award-winning principal, and executive leader, my leadership is grounded in inclusive, people-first, and systems-minded practice. I shape SDUSD\'s Hire to Retire Talent Strategy, including TEACH-LEAD San Diego-our Grow-Your-Own educator and leadership development pipeline focused on nurturing diverse and inclused educators who reflect the students and communities we serve. My work includes transforming partnerships with San Diego State University, UC San Diego, and the University of San Diego to grow our Teacher Residency Program and expand sustainable educator pathways. I also collaborate with labor partners and across district departments as a systems integrator, aligning efforts that have historically lived in silos to increase engagement, professional growth, retention, and organizational coherence. As a doctoral candidate in Leadership Studies and a research practitioner, I view research as healing praxis — research by the people, for the people, in service of the people —when aligned with a shared vision, equity, and community impact. My leadership is rooted in the values of Family, Equity, and Love, and is grounded in the belief that equity is foundational to operational systems that support educators, leaders, students, and communities. Diversity is an asset. Inclusion is a right. Development is for all of us.
