About Kimberly Sward
Kimberly Sward has 15+ years of engineering experience, including more than 12 years of experience in the manufacturing of nuclear power plant equipment. She has led projects in the Reactor Vessel Internals group and the Quality Assurance group during her nuclear power work. More recently, She has been a subject matter expert in Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) for projects. Kimberly has a strong background in systems engineering, training and teaching, This has included teaching personnel, analysis techniques and investigation skills for performing causal analysis and CAPA activities as well as modeling of systems in a clear way to others less familiar with them. She has performed investigations and statistical analysis, in order to discover emerging problems and correct them before they became larger issues. Combining investigative techniques and strong communication skills, she collaborates with senior management on responses to emerging concerns. The act of identifying areas that need improvement, helps to mitigate and prevent future business deficiencies and allows for improved project management.
Experience
Senior Reliability Engineer
Apr 2015 — Present
Senior Reliability Engineer responsible for performing analysis as a subject matter expert in Reliability Maintainability and Availability (RMA) on systems for government agencies in order to gather operational insight and generate solutions to improve performance. Projects have included-Creation of a Quality Assurance standard for a portion of Additive Manufacturing production involving powder bed fusion to create 3-D metal printed parts for NAVAIR-Assessment of reliability of equipment and networks using Monte Carlo simulations in Python on a broad distributed system-Trending of equipment and determination of replace/repair status-Sparing analyses for future planning and cost estimation-Review of project plans for thoroughness-Development and Review of RMA test plans (i.e. Reliability Growth Tests) and test results against objective criteria-Review of proposed statistical methods on projects for clarity, consistency, and areas where potential error exposure might exist-Development and improvement of software code for increased efficiency and clarity-Characterization of equipment performance via testing-Supported and monitored Reliability Growth Tests to improve the reliability of systems through long term testing, assessment of issues for impact, and correction. As part of this effort, lead Failure Review Boards for assessment of issue criticality-System modeling using Weibull Analysis
