Reorganized and grew legal/risk department by 66% for a $350M+ North American based electrical testing and engineering company through expanding support offerings to include contract review, company licensing, lease administration, litigation management, surety bonding and insurance coverage, business continuity, and third-party vendor oversight. Increased organizational maturity through companywide standardization with the expansion and implementation of a Delegation of Authority matrix. Closed and led integration for five US and Canadian M&A transactions in a 12-month period, two of which were closed in 60 days. Directed the due diligence and documentation efforts for three of these acquisitions. Guided a successful multi-jurisdictional lawsuit involving non-compete/solicitation matters saving the jobs of five employees and decreasing further claims through new company-wide hiring policies and procedures to reduce the company’s legal vulnerability and risk. Negotiated challenging, large-scale insurance contract renewals, achieving rates consistent with industry standards, despite multiple catastrophic events and reduced market opportunities, by coordinating and demonstrating safer, more trackable fleet management standards. These efforts most recently resulted in 20% savings compared to prior year premiums. Led effort to provide shared services to union-based entity, while maintaining double breasted corporate structure. This resulted in 80% overhead savings as compared to prior year.
