About Kimberly Slay

Kimberly Slay is recognized as a leading first-chair trial attorney,tax litigator and tax attorney who offers clients more than 30 years of legal experience. Kim has a strong track record of winning complex cases in federal and state courts before juries and judges throughout the United States. She represents corporate clients in commercial disputes, products liability, insurance, and tax. Kim has extensive tax experience and she leverages that experience to represents companies and individuals in all tax matters. She represents clients in assessments, audits, tax collection, criminal tax matters, and administrative tax appeals. Most recently, Kim was General Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Mark Dayton and Lt. Governor Tina Smith. While serving in that capacity, she gained a deep understanding of government operations and developed relationships with key stakeholders. Kim leverages her extensive governmental experience to guide her clients through the complexities of federal, state, and local government. She can effectively assist clients in navigating a multitude of governmental and environmental issues such as permitting a project, natural resource operations, including mining, water quality, and air quality.
