Climate Change Ecologist - North America Science @The Nature Conservancy

In my position at The Nature Conservancy, I develop scientific information and tools designed to help resource managers reduce risks to nature and people from climate change. My focal geographies currently include the Great Lakes and Great Plains regions, the Appalachians, and some ecological drought case-studies in the northwest. Coordination and communication with partners in other organizations, as well as outreach to regional stakeholders, are essential components of my job. Much of my work focuses on identifying key resource management questions, and working with partners and stakeholders to apply science synthesis, modeling, and data visualization to help promote strategies that increase the potential for climate change adaptation. Since 2017, I have also helped sustain Brad McRae\'s Circuitscape and Omniscape connectivity assessment tools. I also serve as a TNC\'s representative on the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (USGS, hosted by the University of Minnesota). I am part of The Nature Conservancy\'s LANDFIRE team, which is part of North America Science, and am based in Lansing, Michigan.
